Não consigo instalar o valgrind devido ao dpkg-deb broken pipe, como consertar isso? [duplicado]

Ao encontrar erros, geralmente é informativo olhar o erro primeiro , aquele que causou os posteriores.

dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/locales_2.17-92_all.deb (--unpack):
 trying to overwrite '/usr/sbin/validlocale', which is also in package libc-bin 2.17-0ubuntu5

O problema é que o dpkg diz: o mesmo arquivo validlocale existe em dois pacotes, então ambos não podem ser instalados. O que pode consertar isso é atualizar o pacote outro primeiro.

aptitude install libc-bin

Quando terminar, tente instalar o valgrind novamente.

Pode ser melhor instalá-lo no Ubuntu Software Center. Pesquisar por valgrind
