Placa sem fio Intel 2200BG incapaz de estabelecer conexão WEP com roteador

Acabei de começar a usar o Ubuntu & amp; Concluiu uma instalação limpa do Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS em um laptop Compaq nc6230 com uma placa sem fio Intel PRO / Wireless 2200BG. Após a instalação, não consigo conectar meu nc6230 (Laptop 1) ao meu roteador Wifi doméstico (Linksys WAG200G) usando a criptografia WEP.

Eu encontrei o problema de conexão WEP imediatamente após a instalação inicial do sistema operacional.

Veja um resumo dos sintomas que encontrei:

1. Eu posso ativar a placa Wifi pressionando o botão de inicialização rápida Wifi.
2. O Network Manager pode detectar & amp; listar o AP (mesmo AP eu conectar com outro laptop).
3. O Network Manager mostra que está tentando se conectar ao AP (ícone piscando na bandeja do sistema).
4. No nc6230 (Laptop 1), o Network Manager continuará solicitando que eu digite a senha WEP em intervalos de alguns minutos.
5. Eu excluí a antiga conexão Wi-Fi no Network Manager e criei uma nova conexão. O Network Manager ainda solicita a senha WEP.

6. Eu instalei o mesmo sistema operacional Ubuntu (64 bits) em outro laptop (Laptop 2 - Compaq 6510b com Intel PRO / Wireless 4965 AG ou AGN [Kedron]) que pode se conectar ao mesmo roteador com o mesmo as mesmas configurações WEP. NOTA: eu encontrei o problema semelhante com o meu Laptop 2 anteriormente. Eu consegui resolver o problema depois de executar um sistema operacional limpo reinstalar e atualizar o firmware / driver da placa wireless Intel PRO 4965 AG).

7. Eu tentei redefinir o BIOS do Laptop 1 para as configurações padrão (como sugerido em uma postagem nos Fóruns do Ubuntu), mas ainda estou encontrando o mesmo problema.

8. Eu poderia conectar-me ao mesmo AP quando ainda estava executando o WinXP no Laptop 1.
9. Desde a instalação inicial, o Laptop 1 pode se conectar à Internet com minha conexão Ethernet.
10. Todas as atualizações mais recentes do sistema já foram instaladas & amp; Laptop 1 reiniciado com sucesso.

Como resolvo esse problema? Eu pesquisei através dos vários fóruns do Ubuntu & amp; tentei várias soluções sugeridas (veja acima), mas o problema ainda persiste.  Preciso atualizar o firmware e / ou driver da Intel 2200BG do Laptop 1? Onde posso baixar a versão atualizada deste firmware / driver? Este problema pode ter sido causado pelo Network Manager?

Consegui resolver o problema mudando meu laptop e roteador para o WPA2 Personal. Eu consegui conectar através da conexão sem fio.

Tente recarregar os drivers do nic copiando os arquivos para /lib/firmware e reinicie o laptop.
