O último lançamento do Ubuntu com lesstif2 foi o Precise Pangolin (12.04). Você poderia instalar o pacote:

wget -P ~ http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/l/lesstif2/lesstif2_0.95.2-1_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i ~/lesstif2_0.95.2-1_amd64.deb

Encontre lesstif -pacotes para o seu sistema

apt-cache search lesstif | awk '$1~/lesstif/ {print}'

às vezes isso acontece quando o pacote é prefaciado com algo como lib:

$ apt-cache search less | grep 'lesstif'
