O problema não estava relacionado com o apt-mirror, mas com o próprio repositório. Eu mudei o repositório e funcionou bem.
Eu gostaria de criar um repositório local para o Ubuntu 18.04 e 16.04. Estou interessado em baixar apenas pacotes de 64 bits. Estou usando o "apt-mirror" para baixar os pacotes para o disco rígido.
Eu uso o seguinte no meu "mirror.lst"

Eu tentei várias vezes repetidamente e recebi o mesmo erro todas as vezes.
O download também é muito lento (apesar da minha conexão rápida com a Internet). Existe alguma opção para baixar os pacotes simultaneamente a partir de múltiplos espelhos? Também por favor me avise qualquer solução para superar o erro!

tente executar o find * -name "*.gz" -exec file {} + | grep -v "gzip compressed data" meu palpite seria talvez você tenha um repo antigo que não funciona?
