Sugiro que você atualize o firmware. Com uma conexão de internet temporária em funcionamento por ethernet, tethering ou qualquer outro meio possível, abra um terminal e faça:

cd /tmp
wget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-firmware/linux-firmware_1.169.1_all.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux*.deb

Reinicie e informe-nos se houver alguma melhoria:

dmesg | grep ath
