Como analisar e desfragmentar drive no Ubuntu 16.04

Eu quero verificar se o meu disco raiz requer uma desfragmentação. Se requried eu estou planejando fazer isso sudo e4defrag -c /dev/<my partition> eu segui este método para analisar o meu disco.

sudo touch /forcefsck
sudo tune2fs -c 1 /dev/<my partition>

Então eu reiniciei o meu sistema, mas não mostra nada na minha reinicialização e vai diretamente para a página de login. Como analisar e desfragmentar uma unidade no Ubuntu 16.04?
