VLC 3.0.1 não reproduz vídeos criptografados

Question

Aardvark Artificial Lubuntu Eu não tenho nenhum problema com a reprodução de vídeos, fazendo uso do VLC 2.2.6. No entanto, eu gostaria de usar a opção interna do Chromecast da versão 3.0.1. Eu consegui através do sistema de gerenciamento de pacotes snap. Quando tento assistir a um DVD, recebo a seguinte mensagem:

Aqui encontrei as seguintes informações: Nosso repositório Debian / Ubuntu pode ser acessado adicionando as seguintes linhas ao /etc/apt/sources.list

E executando

Quando fiz isso, vi uma parte da tela do menu de abertura do DVD, mas a visão já estava bloqueada por quadrados de aparência estranha. Não consigo alterar legendas nem nada, mas posso começar o filme, que também tem essa aparência estranha e para depois de alguns segundos. No terminal, toneladas de mensagens de erro estão sendo lançadas em mim (ainda incluindo o erro acima):

Alguém tem uma ideia de como corrigir isso?

Observe que as respostas dadas na página VLC não reproduzem filmes em DVD não resolveu o problema de criptografia, talvez porque eu estou executando outra versão do VLC.
