It also can send the Mac to sleep mode or retrieve the time since last user activity.
Dependendo do problema que você está tentando resolver, o launchd pode funcionar. Ele executará as tarefas que foram agendadas enquanto a máquina estiver adormecida quando acordar. Também é inteligente o suficiente para executar apenas uma instância da tarefa se vários intervalos tiverem passado enquanto a máquina estava inativa.
