L2TP / IPSec parou de funcionar após a atualização do openssl

As conexões VPN dos meus dispositivos MacBook / iOS para um servidor Debian com o openswan / xl2tp funcionavam muito bem até que eu usei o apt-get para atualizar tudo devido ao anúncio heartblind do openssl.

Agora, a conexão VPN parou de funcionar com o seguinte no servidor auth.log:

Minhas perguntas são:

  1. Qual é o significado mais aparente do erro INVALID_PAYLOAD_TYPE?
  2. Além de fazer downgrade do openswan, quais são minhas melhores opções para investigar e corrigir esse problema?

Acabei de encontrar o mesmo problema hoje e parece que isso é causado pela última atualização de segurança do debian wheezy para o openswan. Quando você faz um dpkg -l | grep openswan , eu suponho que você tenha 1:2.6.37-3+deb7u1 instalado.

Para que ele funcione novamente com o seu iPad / iPhone, é necessário fazer downgrade do openswan no seu servidor com apt-get install openswan=1:2.6.37-3 .

É claro que esta é apenas uma solução feia e não tenho certeza se isso é um bug no openswan mais recente ou no IOS, mas vamos esperar que ela seja corrigida assim que possível.
