Como definir o tempo limite de rotação nos HDDs WD Green

Meu disco interno WD20EARS não gira automaticamente. Eu tentei hdparm -S 1 (5 segundos), mas nada acontece. Desativei o headtracing do IntelliPower com o wdidle3 do Ultimate Boot CD. hdparm -y gira o disco.

A configuração é o Archlinux em um processador i5-4590 com uma placa-mãe MSI B85I (UEFI). O disco rígido não é o disco do sistema. AHCI é definido no UEFI. Eu segui journalctl -f | grep /dev/sdb , o disco não é usado de alguma forma.

Existe alguma possibilidade de ativar o spindown automático?

Este disco rígido, por algum motivo, interpreta a configuração hdparm -S de maneira diferente do esperado.

Normalmente, se você especificar hdparm -S value em 1-240 range, isso resultará em 5s vezes o tempo limite de spindown do valor. Não há garantia de que funcionará exatamente da mesma maneira para todos os HDDs e o WD20EARS é uma das exceções.

Consegui fazer com que fosse spindown em 10min, especificando hdparm -S 3 . Eu encontrei a correção em esta postagem.

Uma solução alternativa é usar o disco rígido . Isso funciona bem para mim.
