O nome do host local não resolve apenas nos navegadores

Estou tendo um problema no Windows Server 2008. Basicamente, o problema é que sempre que o hostname local é usado em um navegador, ele não resolve. Tanto quanto eu posso dizer o nome está definido corretamente, eu posso pingar e hostname retorna o valor correto.

EupossoacessaroURLseeudigitarIPmanualmente,maséumaplicativo"clique uma vez" que tenta acessar recursos on-line e não pode fazer isso. Eu presumo pelo mesmo motivo que o navegador não consegue resolver o nome do host.
