Como posso fazer com que o Linux mostre o uso total da CPU?

Eu quero mostrar o quanto a CPU é usada com o tempo.

Usando o monitor do sistema, posso mostrar o uso da CPU, mas apenas os 4 núcleos individuais. Eu quero ser capaz de mostrar um gráfico do uso total da CPU.

Em outras palavras, núcleo da CPU 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = total, total < - graph

Você pode usar o conky para fazer isso.

Conky é um aplicativo que desenha uma sobreposição em sua área de trabalho, mostrando diferentes informações do sistema. Você pode personalizar o que é mostrado criando um arquivo ".conkyrc" em seu diretório pessoal.

Eu encontrei uma maneira de obter o número geral de uso da CPU, que você pode representar graficamente:
