como obter de um .exe (arquivo executável) a versão, autor, editor etc e outros metadados sem executar o .exe

Como descubro detalhes de um arquivo .exe? Autor de software, fornecedor, data, versão etc?

Quando clico com o botão direito no arquivo e seleciono propriedades, não recebo essa informação.

No entanto, se eu carregar o arquivo para virustotal.com (não trabalhe para eles ou tenha alguma associação com eles - então, isso não é uma promoção), então eu posso ver as informações acima.

Eu prefiro não ter que carregar o arquivo, então estou procurando uma ferramenta do Windows para fazer isso, por favor. Este deve ser um processo simples para ler as informações como o meu upload para virustotal indica que as informações já estão no arquivo. Nota: Eu não estou usando virustotal para o seu principal objetivo de verificar o .exe em vez disso, estou usando o recurso que o virustotal fornece para ler os metadados do arquivo.

Além do que o SeanClt disse, você também pode usar o ExifTool . Ele pode exibir metadados de muitos tipos de arquivos, incluindo imagens PE (arquivos AKA .exe / .dll). Isso também é o que o VirusTotal usa.
