Gravador de disco não é mais detectado no kernel 16.04.04 do Ubuntu 4.4.0-130

Question

So back a while I experienced that my Blu-ray burner suddenly wasn't detected anymore. From kernel 4.4.0-98 and up it just wasn't there. So I just booted kernel 4.4.0-97 every time I needed to burn something.

Então finalmente com o kernel 4.4.0-128 meu gravador foi detectado novamente. Mas não durou muito tempo. Agora, com o kernel 4.4.0-130, ele não é mais detectado novamente - e desta vez não ajuda mais a inicializar o kernel 4.4.0-128 ou 4.4.0-97.

O que dá? Alguém pode me ajudar a recuperar meu gravador?

Eu posso ler discos bem. Mas eu não posso queimar Blu-rays. Alguns aplicativos de gravação parecem me permitir gravar CD's e até DVDs, mas não reconhecem mídia Blu-ray ou não me deixam queimar Blu-rays. Eu tento o ImgBurn via Wine, que nem encontra mais o drive. Costumava trabalhar muito bem. (Eu tenho que usar o ImgBurn via Wine para gravar meus próprios projetos de Blu-ray, porque ainda não há um sistema de arquivos UDF2.5 para aplicativos de gravação do Linux aqui em 2018).

Sim, várias ferramentas parecem produzir os dados certos. Mas isso simplesmente não funciona de qualquer maneira.
