Disco rígido com mau comportamento, os diagnósticos da SMART e do fabricante são aprovados. Devo substituí-lo?

Meu laptop é um Asus G50Vt-X5, que veio com um disco rígido Seagate Momentus. Depois de possuir este computador por um tempo, eu adicionei um segundo disco rígido de um laptop Toshiba mais antigo que tinha uma tela quebrada. Os dois discos rígidos funcionam perfeitamente há muito tempo, mas recentemente tive problemas de corrupção de dados na unidade do meu sistema (a Seagate).

Depois de um tempo, meu computador começou a bloquear por alguns minutos uma vez por semana, durante os quais a unidade do sistema se esforça audivelmente. Parece que a cabeça está buscando repetidamente, mas não consegue trancar a trilha correta. Ontem à noite, ele fez isso novamente várias vezes durante a inicialização, levando mais de 30 segundos para sair do BIOS terminando o POST para o Windows Boot Loader aparecendo. Depois de fazer login no Windows 7, a unidade começou a funcionar novamente depois de carregar a área de trabalho e, após cerca de um minuto disso, recebi um erro STOP indicando que um processo do sistema foi encerrado inesperadamente. O despejo de memória falhou, pois a unidade do sistema ainda estava se debatendo. Quando foi reiniciado, meu BIOS congelou na detecção da unidade.

Eu desconectei o laptop e removi a bateria, esperei dois minutos, depois conectei-a novamente e inicializei normalmente (exceto pela mensagem "O Windows não desligou corretamente").

Encerrei e reiniciei no modo de reparo para executar o CHKDSK (não consigo agendá-lo na inicialização, pois o autochk.exe continua corrompido). Encontrou inconsistências menores e corrigiu-as.

Depois retornei ao Windows e usei o Smartmontools para obter as seguintes informações sobre a unidade do meu sistema:

Eu também executei o Seagate SeaTools para Windows nos modos S.M.A.R.T. Check e Long Drive Self Test , ambos passando.

Eu só notei o drive se debatendo audivelmente cerca de três vezes. Devo me apressar e comprar uma nova unidade de sistema o mais rápido possível?

Desculpe, não pude evitar. Pelo que estou lendo, sua unidade está começando a falhar e não há como voltar atrás. Obtenha um backup de todos os seus dados e substitua a unidade do sistema.

Geralmente para hardware COTS, qualquer teste como testes de disco rígido, memtests etc. NÃO PODE garantir 100% de que um componente não está quebrado, incluindo testes do fabricante. A única coisa (sem contar os bugs) em que você pode ter certeza é, quando um teste diz que está quebrado, provavelmente está quebrado.

Portanto, se um teste retornar verde e você tiver eliminado qualquer outra possibilidade razoável, ainda assim você deve assumir que um componente está falhando e verificar com um bom (ou provável) conhecido.
