Estou tentando instalar o pacote amsmath para LaTeX no Linux Mint 16. Estou usando os comandos tlmgr amsmath ou sudo tlmgr amsmath , mas ambos estão me dando este erro:

tlmgr: unknown action: amsmath; try --help if you need it.
Eu também tentei tlmgr install amsmath e sudo tlmgr install amsmath , mas eles estão me dando:
(running on Debian, switching to user mode!)
cannot setup TLPDB in /home/evorlor/texmf at /usr/bin/tlmgr line 5308.
Alguma idéia sobre uma correção? Meu objetivo final é alinhar uma equação pelos sinais =, se for relevante.
Você não inicializou tlmgr . Tente primeiro
tlmgr init-usertree
e depois
tlmgr install amsmath
Se isso não funcionar, não é sua culpa, mas você terá que ser paciente: veja as postagens n.3 e 4 em este relatório de bug , e você terá que esperar por uma correção. No meu instável Debian, eu não tenho esse tipo de bug, e o tlmgr funciona perfeitamente.
