Não é possível configurar o Outlook '13 como cliente de email padrão no Win10: “Não há cliente de email padrão ou…”

Problema muito agravante na minha máquina de trabalho (Dell Optiplex 5050 - Windows 10 Enterprise x64, build 1803 - Spring Creators Update).

Sempre que clico como arquivo .MSG, recebo este erro: Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.

O Outlook já é o programa de email padrão. Alguma idéia de como consertar isso? Se for importante, nosso servidor de e-mail é o Exchange 2007.

UPDATE: Eu tentei agora uma instalação de reparo do Office Pro '13 e excluindo essa chave de registro: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook (via instruções da MS, embora muito antigas: ). Nem fez diferença.

Faça backup dessas chaves do Registro com uma exportação primeiro e, em seguida, todas as chaves com o rótulo " Manipulador de visualização do Microsoft Windows MAPI " exclui todas ou quaisquer que possam existir em seu ambiente. Depois disso, você deve reinicializar a máquina imediatamente antes do teste apenas para ser aprofundado.

Não é possível visualizar arquivos .msg no Windows File Explorer com Outlook de 64 bits :

This issue occurs when you have the 64-bit version of Microsoft Outlook installed. The Windows preview host requires a 32-bit application previewer. When 32-bit Outlook is installed, it acts as the previewer. Without 32-bit Outlook installed, there is no previewer available for .msg files.

Duas soluções são recomendadas para este problema:

Method 1: Disable the Windows Explorer Preview Pane, and open the .msg file to view it in Outlook

• Open Windows File Explorer.
• On the View tab, click Preview pane to disable it.
• To view the .msg file, double-click it to open it in Outlook.

Method 2: Use 32-bit Outlook

If you prefer to preview .msg files in Windows File Explorer, install the 32-bit version of Outlook instead of the 64-bit version.
