Instalei o ubuntu 14.04 no meu novo laptop Lenovo Thinkpad E540
Eu me conecto a uma rede wifi, mas depois de um tempo eu perdi a conexão, eu tento reconectar, mas ele não pode se conectar novamente a qualquer rede wifi. para conectar novamente eu tenho que reiniciar o computador.

Desativar 802.11N

No roteador: altere 802.11bgn para apenas 802.11bg .
No driver: Depende do seu cartão WiFi (mas o acima pode ser o suficiente).

Criptografia

Altere a criptografia WEP do roteador para apenas WPA2 (CCMP) (AES) não (TKIP), se você tiver essa opção.

Canal do roteador

Defina o canal sem fio no roteador como 1 ou 11, salve a configuração do roteador e reinicie-a.

Desativar IPV6

No Network Manager, no canto superior direito da tela, clique em Editar conexões - > Guia Sem fio e defina o IPV6 como Ignorar.

Eu vi um problema parecido, que acabou se tornando um antigo arquivo de configuração modprobe (em /etc/modprobe.d) que instalei há alguns anos. Especificamente, especificou uma opção para o cfg80211 (módulo de pilha WiFi) options cfg80211 ieee80211_regdom="EU"

Após comentar / remover a opção, a reinicialização foi corrigida. Portanto, verifique se algum dos seus arquivos modprobe.d contém opções de configuração para cfg80211 e tente comentá-los / removê-los.
