O Apt-get falhou ao buscar do servidor Ubuntu com o código de erro 404

Acabei de atualizar de 10.04 para Oneiric e agora não posso mais usar meu apt-get . Quando faço, recebo o seguinte erro:

Eu posso pingar qualquer computador e acessar a internet. sudo apt-get update e apt-get upgrade não funciona (nem limpo ou autoclean), dpkg --configure -a também não ajuda. Alguma idéia?

Parece-me um problema de rede, você está por trás de um proxy? Em caso afirmativo, sua configuração pode ser borked.

Dê uma olhada no seu arquivo etc/apt/apt.conf e verifique as configurações de proxy lá.

SOLUTION

#Wrong!!!
#Acquire::http::Proxy "http://proxyconf/proxy.pac";
Acquire::http::Proxy "http://17X.XX.XX.X:8080";

Foi um problema com as configurações de rede - um proxy inválido estava configurado causando o problema.

É isso! Em todos os lugares diz para adicionar o seu servidor proxy ao /etc/apt/apt.conf, mas eu adicionei o URL do proxy que eu uso em todo o sistema (ou seja, para o Chrome, etc) e sem alegria. No entanto, se você baixar o arquivo .pac do URL do proxy, poderá descobrir qual servidor proxy real está sendo redirecionado (geralmente com base em seu endereço IP), usar esse URL / IP em /etc/apt/apt.conf e funcionou para mim! Baseado no post anterior, tive o mesmo problema descrito acima no Ubuntu 14.04. Eu não estava atrás de um proxy, mas ainda recebo o erro 404, apontando em um recurso ruim na minha rede local (um pequeno adaptador NAS que não posso controlar esse problema). Adicionar / configurar um proxy local (o Squid3 foi escolhido) no meu computador e configurar o apt-get para apontar para o meu problema de rede.
