Por que eu tenho que repor meu mouse ocasionalmente?

Eu tenho dois mouses com fio USB (ratos?): "Mad Catz R.A.T.7" e "Canyon CNL-MBMSO02". De tempos em tempos, quando eu inicio meu computador, acho que o último mouse não está funcionando. Mas ele começa a funcionar se eu o reconectar. E não importa se estou executando o Windows ou o Linux. Alguém sabe o que isso tem a ver com isso?

UPD Foi assim desde o momento em que comprei o mouse.

UPD Embora eu não consiga mover o cursor, os botões esquerdo e direito e a roda estão funcionando.

UPD Bem, hoje meu mouse parou de funcionar novamente. Depois que eu fui incapaz de trazer meu computador de volta do sono. Embora, duvido muito que meu mouse pare de funcionar toda vez que isso acontece. Os eventos mais suspeitos para mim são os que dizem respeito à impressora. Porque eu não tenho impressora.
