Como configurar o daemon watchdog do Linux com o Intel 6300esb

Estou procurando por isso no Google há algum tempo e ainda não encontrei a documentação adequada sobre como conectar o driver do kernel do meu watchdog 6300esb ao / dev / watchdog e garantir que o watchdog daemon o mantenha ativo.

Agora, talvez eu não esteja testando corretamente, mas esperaria que parar o serviço watchdog fizesse com que o / dev / watchdog atingisse o tempo limite após 30 segundos e eu veria a reinicialização do host, mas isso não acontece.

Qualquer ajuda é apreciada, já que o máximo que encontrei são os patches para kvm e a documentação geral do softdog ou as respostas do watchdog do IPMI.
