Não é possível instalar o build-essential no Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04

Já experimentei sudo apt-get install build-essential , o que resulta em E: não foi possível encontrar o essencial da compilação do pacote

e

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install build-essential que resulta em vários erro link jaunty-updates / multiverse Fontes   404 não encontrado [IP: 91.189.88.140 80] e W: falha ao buscar link 404 não encontrado [IP : 91.189.92.166 80] erros

Alguma idéia?

Sua versão do Ubuntu não é mais suportada pela Canonical. Servidores de arquivamento padrão não hospedam mais pacotes para o Jaunty, já que as versões do Ubuntu (não-LTS) são suportadas apenas por 18 meses, e o Ubuntu LTS é suportado apenas por 3 anos.
