O GRUB não reconhece partições em um disco rígido

Eu tenho um computador dualboot com o Windows Vista (no hd0) e o Ubuntu 9.10. O gerenciador de inicialização é o GRUB e o gerenciador de inicialização do Windows me permite decidir entre o Vista e a Instalação do Ubuntu (WuBi quebrado). Mas agora (eu não sei porque isso mudou) eu não posso mais usar o bootloader do windows. A mensagem de erro é "nenhum tal dispositivo: AE1440441440122F" Eu tentei "ls" no grub-prompt e me deu uma lista como:

(hd0) (hd1) (hd1,0) (hd1,1) (hd1,2) ... (fd0)

Ele reconhece todas as partições do hd1 (o disco rígido do ubuntu), mas não do hd0 (o win-disk). .. POR QUE?

Você já resolveu isso? Eu vejo a pergunta foi feita há 2 anos, mas de qualquer maneira ... Você precisa da linha insmod part_msdos em algum lugar no arquivo grub.cfg. Não consegui encontrar no log que você postou.

Acabei de ter um problema semelhante usando um disco rígido que possui uma tabela de partição GUID em vez de um MBR; então você precisa da linha insmod part_gpt
