CentOS 7.1 - Instalar o Tomcat 8

Question

Estou usando este tutorial como uma referência de configuração para obter um Tomcat 8 em execução no CentOs 7.1 , mas depois de digitar:

[root@localhost tomcat]# sudo systemctl start tomcat

Eu recebo o erro:

systemctl status tomcat.service imprime o seguinte:

[root@localhost tomcat]# systemctl status tomcat.service

O que o erro significa e como posso obter o Tomcat 8 em execução no meu servidor CentOS 7.1?

Acabei de responder aqui que tive o mesmo problema e corrigi-lo por:

1. dando ao usuário do tomcat a propriedade de todo o diretório tomcat :

   cd /opt && sudo chown -R tomcat tomcat/
   

2. e comentando abaixo da linha em /etc/systemd/system/tomcat.service :

   Environment='CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512M -Xmx1024M -server -XX:+UseParallelGC'

No meu caso, a variável JAVA_HOME sempre auto anexa o "/ bin / java", então se eu escrever o caminho completo que eu tenho ../bin/bin/java

remover "/ bin / java" consertou a coisa para mim.
