Fazendo a configuração personalizada do touchpad do synaptics persistente não trabalhando

Estou com dificuldades para tornar meu touchpad personalizado persistente.

Eu conheço muito bem a configuração que desejo. Aqui está o comando, usando synclient :

synclient RightButtonAreaLeft=0 RightButtonAreaTop=0 ClickTime=20 AccelFactor=0.3 MaxSpeed=2.5 PalmDetect=1 VertTwoFingerScroll=1 HorizTwoFingerScroll=1 VertEdgeScroll=0 HorizEdgeScroll=0

Como explicado aqui e lá Criei /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf em vez de editar /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf com o seguinte conteúdo:

Surpreendentemente, isso muda alguma coisa, pois meu mouse fica mais rápido, mas não aplica todas as opções, já que HorizTwoFingerScroll não está disponível.

Como /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf ainda está lá, estou pensando se isso não está interferindo. Aqui está o que está aí:

Por que existem vários? Como posso desativá-los (considerando que não tenho permissão para editar o arquivo)? Eu senti falta de alguma coisa?
