Eu tenho um disco rígido WD Caviar SATA de 320GB em uma máquina desktop de 2007.
Ultimamente, foi feito o desdobramento aleatório durante o uso ativo (streaming de um vídeo, por exemplo: o disco vai girar e girar novamente após alguns segundos, durante os quais o pausas de vídeo).
Isso traz de volta más recordações de muitas unidades com falha - no entanto, a SMART parece sugerir que tudo está OK.
Isso acontece em média uma vez a cada 1-2 horas.
eu corri:
sudo smartctl -t long /dev/sda
E então sudo smartctl -H /dev/sda

Eu tentei trocar os cabos de energia e SATA, sem sucesso.
É claro que não há dados importantes nesse disco, mas não estou especialmente ansioso pelo tempo de inatividade que pode resultar de uma falha no disco.
Qual a probabilidade de meu disco rígido estar prestes a chutar o balde?
Poderia ser a fonte de alimentação?
Existe algum outro diagnóstico que eu possa executar?
