Laptop: HP ProBook 4520s

Eu tenho minha placa-mãe substituída. Eles testaram no serviço de reparo e estava tudo bem. Eu tenho o laptop em casa e funcionou. Então eu hibernei e quando eu queria ligá-lo novamente - não carreguei nem mesmo o BIOS - apenas comecei a desligar e ligar novamente em um intervalo de tempo de 2-3 segundos. Eu ouço os usuais sons de "inicialização" do hardware. Mas a tela nem recebe sinal - quer dizer, até mesmo a luz de fundo (mesmo se ainda preta) não liga.

Eu encontrei muitos problemas como esse na net, dizendo que o BIOS deve estar corrompido, mas como é que ele estava funcionando e de repente do nada ele foi corrompido ?! E as soluções que encontrei foram removendo a bateria do RTC, etc.

Eu removi a bateria e desconectei o cabo de alimentação, removi até mesmo a bateria RTC (para que a BIOS redefina para o padrão) por algum tempo, mas o problema ainda persiste.

Alguma idéia do que pode ser o problema?

Embora pareça ser uma resolução diferente, ela ainda pode resolver seu problema.

Recovering the BIOS using key press combination
When you upgrade the BIOS on your notebook, a copy of the previous BIOS version is stored in the HP TOOLS partition of your hard drive. Many HP notebook computers have an emergency BIOS recovery feature that allows you to recover and install the last known good version of the BIOS from the hard drive, as long as the hard drive remains functional. This emergency recovery feature is separate from the BIOS and is designed to work in the event of a catastrophic BIOS failure.
To recover an earlier version of the BIOS on your notebook:

    Turn off the computer.
    Plug the notebook into power using the power adapter.
    Press and hold the Windows key and the B key down at the same time while the computer is off.
    Still pressing those keys, press and hold down the Power button on the notebook for 1 second, and then release the Power button and the Windows and B keys.
    The Power LED light remains on, and the screen remains blank for about 40 seconds before anything appears on the display. You might also hear beeping sounds. Eventually, an HP BIOS Update screen displays and the BIOS update begins automatically.

To recover the BIOS on your notebook using the USB key:

Plug the notebook into an AC adapter.
Insert the USB key with HP_Tools installed into an available USB port.
Press the Power button while holding the Windows key and the B key.
The emergency recovery feature replaces the BIOS with the version on the USB key. The computer reboots automatically when the process is completed successfully.

No meu caso (um HP ProBook 4540s), havia algo errado com o conjunto da tela ou com o cabo que vai da placa-mãe para a tela.

Eu tive sorte e achei que o laptop funcionasse com a tela em um certo ângulo (eu podia ver a inicialização do Windows, etc.), mas assim que eu mudei a tela, ela foi embora.

Eu inspecionei completamente o cabo porque parecia haver algum desgaste na área entre a base e a tela, mas todos os fios pareciam bem, então acabei pedindo outra montagem de tela, incluindo o cabo da eBay por US $ 40 e viola! O laptop funcionou perfeitamente desde então.
