O Debian Squeeze não pode instalar o php-pear

Eu uso o Debian 6.0.6

sudo apt-get install php-pear

resulta em:

Você está executando uma distribuição mista (stable / testing / etc) ou usando repositórios secundários?

sudo apt-get install php-pear

Se este for o caso, você deve fazer o downgrade de todas as versões do pacote não-mainstream e tentar novamente.

Tenho certeza que você fez, mas no caso:

apt-get update 
apt-get upgrade
apt-get install php-pear 

tente executar comandos nesta ordem.
