Não é possível ativar o Bluetooth em 13.10

Eu tenho tido dificuldades com esse ...

Eu tive meu ASUS X301A desde o ano passado, somente no Ubuntu 12.04 até recentemente (cerca de um mês), quando mudei para o 13.04. Mais recentemente, eu comprei um fone de ouvido bluetooth que funciona como um charme com o meu telefone e me lembrou que eu tinha bluetooth no meu PC.

Chegando ao ponto agora: não consigo descobrir como fazer o bluetooth funcionar. Quando tento ativá-lo via GUI, ele não faz nada :

EDIT: Fiz o upgrade para 13.10 e executei novamente as verificações, eis o que obtenho agora:

Oi, tenho pouco tempo porque estou no trabalho. Eu posso te dar uma dica e talvez uma solução assumida;). Eu tive problemas com o meu adaptador BT (que é USB) bem duas semanas atrás. O meu é:

Mas eu tive exatamente os mesmos sintomas que você descreveu com 14.04 LTS. Depois de uma longa pesquisa descobri que os drivers bluetooth se tornaram um buggy alguns meses atrás. Tem algo a ver com um modo de configuração quando o driver tenta inicializar o dispositivo BT. Tanto quanto me lembro foi um Bugfix que acabou por não funcionar muito bem com alguns dispositivos.

Eu não apliquei o patch ao meu kernel porque tenho pouco tempo no momento e BT não é tão importante para mim, mas desde que o patch é aplicado no próximo kernel do Ubuntu para o 14.04 LTS eu instalei esse kernel e o BT funcionou perfeitamente novamente. Como eu tenho uma placa gráfica NVidia, não pude usar este kernel porque o pacote nvidia 304-updates não funciona com esta versão, mas na linha de comando tudo funcionou bem.

Se for possível mudar para o 14.04 LTS e aguardar o próximo lançamento do kernel ou baixar o pacote kernel-source, aplique o patch e compile um kernel próprio.
