Como fazer o mplayer usar legendas?

Estou tentando usar legendas com um arquivo mkv da seguinte maneira:

mplayer video.mkv
mplayer -sub video.srt video.mkv
mplayer video.mkv -sub video.srt

mas apenas o vídeo foi reproduzido, mas sem legendas. Também pressionei vários botões enquanto reproduzia o vídeo ('j', 'u', 's'), mas sem qualquer alteração.

OS: MacOS 10.13.16 mplayer: 1.3.0-4.2.1

Talvez eu esteja sentindo falta de algo? Ou o mplayer deve ser compilado de alguma maneira especial e complicada? Ou uma biblioteca está faltando? Ou é porque é um mac?

Existe uma maneira de usar as legendas no arquivo srt com um vídeo mkv com mplayer ?

Eu tentei, conforme sugerido no comentário, definir a configuração como mostrado aqui . Mas recebo o seguinte erro ao reproduzir o arquivo mkv com o arquivo srt na mesma pasta:

Quando reproduzo o arquivo da seguinte forma

o vídeo é reproduzido bem com áudio, mas sem legendas. A saída no console é a seguinte:

Você provavelmente tem mplayer sem freetype e fontconfig

Configuration: --cc=clang --host-cc=clang --disable-cdparanoia --prefix=/usr/local/Cellar/mplayer/1.3.0 --disable-x11

Soluções possíveis:

• Instale fontes bitmap do site mplayer e descompacte-o em ~/.mplayer (para obter detalhes, consulte documentação do mplayer

• Você diz que instalou mplayer com brew . Instale mplayer novamente com freetype e fontconfig support.

  Desinstale mplayer e:

  brew install freetype
  brew install fontconfig
  brew install --build-from-source mplayer
  

  Em teoria, mplayer pode detectar fontconfig e freetype e ativá-lo.

EDITAR:

Para listar todos os sinalizadores possíveis, use:

Resposta parcial:

Eu tentei uma instalação homebrew de mplayer com o arquivo test5.mkv com legendas do conjunto de testes matroska (para tornar os resultados reproduzíveis).

Como em seu log, recebo a mensagem de erro Cannot load bitmap font 'Arial' , enquanto as outras mensagens de log indicam que a própria trilha de legenda é reconhecida corretamente.

Portanto, o problema parece estar carregando as fontes. Eu tentei algumas variações com -font (um caminho e um padrão fontconfig), com e sem -fontconfig . Eu também instalei as fontes brutas de bitmap fornecidas pelo mplayer. Eu também tentei criar o link simbólico subfont.ttf . Ele sempre reclama que a fonte de bitmap não pode ser carregada, não importa se é realmente uma fonte bruta de bitmap ou uma fonte TrueType.

Eu também descobri que, enquanto homebrew lista fontconfig como uma dependência, mplayer se queixa quando iniciado com -v -v que não é construído com fontconfig ativado.

Então, tudo isso parece indicar que o homebrew construído está quebrado por algum motivo.

O próximo passo para mim (se eu precisasse do mplayer) seria compilar o mplayer a partir do código fonte e descobrir se há erros de configuração quando o homebrew o engarrafa, mas não tenho certeza se você quer (ou pode) ir tão longe, se Eu deveria ser bem sucedido.

Outra opção seria reclamar para quem administra a fórmula homebrew e fazer com que ela analise isso.
