Como gerar / disparar um comando ao entrar em um espaço de trabalho específico

Assim como outra opção, usando outro método para indicar a viewport atual. Eu usei uma funcionalidade semelhante em vários scripts, a.o. aqui .

O script detecta alteração na janela de visualização, além de inserir uma viewport específica .

  • Se uma ação deve ser feita em alteração em viewports, substitua o comando print em:

    if curr_dt2 != curr_dt1:
        print(curr_dt2)
    

    ... por outro comando ( subprocess.popen() )

  • Se uma ação deve ser feita ao entrar em uma viewport específica , substitua o comando em:

        if curr_dt2 == 3:
            subprocess.Popen(["gedit"])
    

    ... por outro. Se o processo deve ser eliminado quando sair da área de trabalho, adicione uma seção:

        if all([curr_dt1 == 3 curr_dt2 != 3]):
            subprocess.Popen(["<killcommand>"])

Introdução

O fluxo de trabalho essencial desta solução é ter um script de wrapper que inicie o comando do usuário ao entrar na área de trabalho e envie sigterm para ele quando o usuário inserir a área de trabalho não na lista. Isso é melhor usado com comandos que podem ser usados como aplicativos independentes e podem ser terminados com segurança sem perda de informações

Uso

Conforme mostrado pela opção -h

usage: workspace_command_limiter.py [-h] -w WORKSPACES -c COMMAND

Runs user-defined command __upon__ entering user-defined set of workspaces.
For instance ./workspace_command_limiter.py -w 1,2,3 -c "python
/home/user/some_script.py" This is intended to serve only as launcher for a
command when user switches to their desired workspace, so consider carefully
which command you want to use. NOTE: This script does run everything from
shell, so you are here implicitly trusted not to use any command that may
break your system. I'm not responsible for your stupidity :)

optional arguments:
  -h, --help            show this help message and exit
  -w WORKSPACES, --workspaces WORKSPACES
                        coma-separated list(without spaces) of workspaces
  -c COMMAND, --command COMMAND
                        quoted command to be spawned,when switch to workspace
                        occurs

No contexto do script disable_super_key.py , isso deve ser executado assim

./workspace_command_limiter.py -w 1,2 -c "python ./disable_super_key.py"

Observe que, neste exemplo, ./ indica que os dois scripts estão no mesmo diretório.
