Recentemente, encontrei um número crescente de DVDs que parecem conter muito mais dados do que fisicamente possíveis. Eles parecem conter várias cópias dos principais VOBs do filme. Note que estes não são discos Blu-Ray. Eles dizem "DVD" na frente e estão sendo lidos em uma unidade somente de DVD que não suporta Blu-Ray.
Por exemplo, o DVD da Universidade de Monstros tem 11 cópias do filme real. Isso gera problemas com softwares como o vobcopy no Debian, já que ele tentará ler todos os arquivos no disco. Eu olhei ao redor, mas fui incapaz de encontrar uma pista de como isso está acontecendo (a estrutura ISO permite hard links no sistema de arquivos?), Muito menos como copiar o conteúdo real que eu me importo e ignorar as inúmeras cópias extras . Embora eu possa escanear manualmente VOBs de um disco, isso é extremamente tedioso e se houver alguma maneira de fazer isso automaticamente, seria ótimo.
Eu anexei um 'ls -sh' neste DVD em particular, mostrando como o disco aparece. Observe que o tamanho total é (reivindicado) como 81 GB, não 8,5 GB.
