Ubuntu - Internet não está funcionando nem aparecendo

Question

Eu sou completamente novo para o Ubuntu, como literalmente, eu só conheço alguns comandos e coisas para o terminal .. Eu instalei recentemente no meu laptop para aprender mais, mas por alguma razão estranha o meu wifi não vai pegar, nem vai aceitar conexões com fio .. Estou atualmente executando a versão 12.04 e estou em extrema necessidade de assistência. Eu gostaria de poder dar a vocês mais pessoas para trabalhar, mas estou empolgado, não tenho idéia de como consertar isso. Eu tentei alterar minhas configurações de interface (gksu gedit / etc / network / interfaces) para

auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp
