Eu tenho um problema com o meu Dell 1018 Inspiron. Não consigo ligar o Wi-Fi através da tecla no teclado. Eu acho que é um problema de driver desde o Ubuntu 11.10. Estas são as versões que eu tentei:
Ubuntu 10.04 / 10.10 É possível instalar o driver manualmente:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lexical/hwe-wireless
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rtl8192ce-dkms
Ubuntu 11.04 Funciona fora da caixa
Ubuntu 11.10 / 12.04 Não encontrei nenhuma solução para essas versões. O " ppa:lexical/hwe-wireless " não funciona para essas versões. Diz Não pode encontrar pacote rtl8192ce-dkms.
A janela de drivers adicionais está vazia. Então não consigo instalar o driver.
A rede com fio funciona bem.

idem! mesma máquina mesmo problema .... contornou este site ... instalou o gerenciador de pacotes synaptic do centro de software do ubuntu ... usando aquele firmware-b43-installer instalado e fez com que o jockey-gtk fosse instalado
em seguida, o truque de mágica .... inicie-se no BIOS (F2) .... restaure o BIOS para as configurações padrão ... e pronto ... tudo funciona como um encanto, incluindo o Wicd Wireless Network Manager.
Sou iniciante e soava complicado, mas não era realmente ...!
