Instale o IE 9 no antigo PC Home Premium que precisa de atualizações do sistema operacional

Eu quero instalar o novo navegador IE9 Release Candidate em meu PC de três anos com o Windows Vista Home Premium 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001. O navegador não será instalado porque preciso de "atualizações do SO", que Eu suponho que significa Service Pack 2, certo? Mas quando eu tento instalá-lo (na versão de 32 ou 64 bits), ele me diz que não se aplica ao meu PC, então estou preso. Pensamentos?

Execute a atualização do Windows e instale todas as atualizações necessárias primeiro e tente instalar novamente o IE9.

Também estou incluindo os requisitos do sistema para o IE9. Parece que você está bem, mas só para ter certeza de que estou jogando-os.
