Mesma disposição do teclado, diferentes saídas para diferentes idiomas

• Eu tenho um teclado no Reino Unido, então o layout inglês-inglês
• Precisa digitar caracteres em português e alemão (por exemplo, á, ã, ä ...)
• Não quer comprar um novo teclado
• Não quer mudar o layout do teclado (funcionalidade padrão do Ubuntu)
• Por que não? Porque eu não quero constantemente "tentar lembrar" onde cada chave é; Eu definitivamente não quero imprimir um mapa de layout!
• Eu quero pressionar ' A e obter 'a quando o idioma é inglês ou alemão e á quando o português; atualmente, para obter á em português eu preciso pressionar [ A
• Isso é possível / padrão no Windows desde 98 (que eu saiba)

Solved! In the end both Alvar and the above mentioned question pointed at the right direction. The solution is really meant to be "layout changing" in Ubuntu... even though I still strongly disagree with such a label: the change is in behavior of certain key combinations (input) to achieve desired characters (output), not in layout (physical arrangement). So, as Ubuntu wishes, changing the layout to English (UK, international with dead keys) solves the problem... and creates another: now I need to press " + space to get " ; at least now I can easily get á, ç, ã, ê, ü, etc.
