Eu instalei alguns ambientes de desktop no meu desktop Ubuntu 16.04 antes de escolher elementary-desktop . Eu usei o repo estável . Depois de experimentar a falha em iniciar o Pantheon, adicionei o repo diário , mas não o repo de teste.
Neste momento, não vi nenhum sinal do Elementary Desktop, além de algumas alterações de estilo. Então eu desinstalei o Unity, também tentei remover o LXDE, mas continuo a encontrá-lo (usando-o agora). Esta ação substituiu tudo o que diz Ubuntu com Elementary OS, incluindo GRUB, progresso certo? NÃO!
Não consigo iniciar sozinho o desktop elementar, /usr/share/xsessions/ não possui o arquivo pantheon.desktop . Eu acho que toda a configuração do xsession do Pantheon está faltando. O Ubuntu não está sendo informado sobre como iniciar o Elementary Desktop.
Eu procurei em todos os lugares (etc), mas o O melhor que eu encontrei para saber como consertar o xsession é a página do launchpad do pantheon xsession settings e sua correspondente página do github cujos documentos dizem apenas

Por enquanto eu tentei reinstalar o Gnome-Shell (gnome e Unity) para me dar um DE decente para trabalhar enquanto eu resolvo as coisas, mas continuo recebendo

Eu reinstalei o Elementary-desktop várias vezes, executei a reconfiguração do dpkg, o apt-get dist-upgrade (?) e um monte de outras coisas. Isso termina silenciosamente, exceto por alguns problemas com o ícone. Sem efeito.
Também tentei instalar o Pantheon com sucesso com o sinalizador --reinstall. Nenhum efeito:

Algo sobre a falta de gala também ocorreu, não consigo replicá-lo.
Eu não consigo me mover para outro lugar, a não ser este desktop LXDE frustrantemente simples. Eu baixei o OpenSUSE para poder alternar livremente DE sem quebrar minha interface do usuário. Existe alguma coisa que eu possa fazer para salvar essa situação antes de recorrer a uma revisão do sistema operacional?
