Microsoft Remote Desktop só funciona com ip público

Estou tendo um problema estranho. Quando eu tento RDP no meu servidor usando seu ip local (192.168.0.30) meu cliente RDP fica preso em "Credenciais de Negociação". Se eu usar o meu ip publico / internet (porta 3389 exposta a internet) ele funciona bem.

Cada cliente abaixo mostra o mesmo comportamento (funciona usando o IP da WAN; falha com o IP da LAN)

Clientes RDP testados:

  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac
  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac Beta
  • Conexão de Área de Trabalho Remota (com Windows)
  • Microsoft RDP Client Android

Versão do Windows: 8.1 Pro

O Firewall do Windows está desativado e não há antivírus instalado.

Não consigo pensar em nenhum motivo pelo qual ele falhe ao usar meu ip local. Eu só posso supor que é um problema de configuração no roteador ou no computador host.
