Erros ao tentar compilar o checkinstall a partir do código-fonte no Cygwin

Estou executando o Cygwin no Windows 7. Estou com problemas para tentar instalar o checkinstall utilitário da fonte, e o culpado parece ser gcc .

Quando executo /.configure , recebo o erro:

-bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

Portanto, continuo com make e obtenho uma saída que falha com muitos erros, presumivelmente causados por gcc . A saída pode ser vista em sua totalidade aqui , mas abaixo estão as primeiras e últimas linhas dela.

Me desculpe se eu estou indo sobre isso da maneira errada, mas eu estou completamente fora da minha profundidade com este código e os erros sendo lançados. Eu tentei usar o instalador do Cygwin para reinstalar gcc_core e outros gcc pacotes várias vezes sem efeito.

Eu estava no processo de usar este guia para compilar a última versão do gcc da fonte antes de me deparar com erros fatais com isso também, e decidi começar do começo e determinar se o problema pode ser resolvido sem adicionar ainda mais inchaço à minha instalação do Cygwin.
