Eu tenho um Barracuda 7200.12 1TB, a unidade não está sendo detectada por nenhum sistema operacional, antes de girar os discos eu mesmo que o disco rígido faria um clique como se as cabeças estivessem tentando se mover, mas os pratos não estão girando e um som de apito baixo.
Depois que eu abri o disco rígido, forcei-o a girar em câmera lenta e depois decolou. a partir daí, o barulho estranho veio alto.
Eu só acho que o prato está desalinhado, o que é um grande problema :) anexado é um vídeo para esse som.
Agora, depois de apertar os parafusos, como David sugeriu. Eu consegui ver o disco na minha lista de discos duas vezes. abaixo está o log do dmesg.

No seu vídeo, vejo que a parte superior da unidade está desativada. Ignorando meus comentários anteriores sobre poeira (que eu ainda aguardo - e de fato rodar o disco com os pratos expostos será ainda pior), a tampa da drivr é um elemento estrutural da unidade e precisa estar ligada com o torque correto nos parafusos - este vídeo do YouTube demonstra a importância do torque correto.
