Tentando instalar o Steam no Ubuntu 14.04

Eu tentei instalar o steam a partir do centro de software, do site steam e do apt-get e sempre recebo este erro:

Eu tentei fazer:

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

e ainda não funciona.

Quatro dos seus pacotes não têm caminho de atualização ou estão quebrados e, portanto, você está recebendo o dito erro. Você pode verificar quais pacotes estão quebrados no arquivo de log apt-get executando o comando:

gedit /var/log/apt/term.log

Você pode removê-los da seguinte forma:

sudo apt-get remove [package_name]

Se isso não funcionar, você pode optar por aptitude .

O Aptitude é usado para funções comuns de gerenciamento de pacotes, como instalação, remoção e atualização.

Você pode instalá-lo da seguinte forma:

sudo apt-get install aptitude
sudo aptitude -fy remove [package_name]

Depois de remover o pacote, tente instalar o Steam novamente.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install steam -y

Tente

sudo apt-get install -f 

depois é só rodar o Steam através do Terminal (pelo menos na primeira vez). Isso sempre funcionou para mim quando tive problemas com dependências.
