Ubuntu 14.04 64Bit: Atraso do cursor quando o cursor do mouse muda?

Estou enfrentando exatamente o mesmo problema mencionado no link mas no Ubuntu 14.04 64 Bit.

Problema:

  • O ponteiro do mouse congela por cerca de 300 ms sempre que o ícone do cursor é alterado:
    • Ao passar do campo de texto para o ponteiro do mouse.
    • Ao cruzar a borda da janela, o cursor muda para redimensionar o cursor de volta para o ponteiro do mouse.

Está acontecendo o tempo todo e dentro de cada aplicativo (excessivamente no Chromium, Firefox)

Existe outro problema no contexto do botão direito do mouse que é muito lento, mas não sei se está relacionado ou não.

Coisas que tentei, mas sem sucesso:

  • Alterar o ambiente de área de trabalho para Unity / cannamon / gnome-flash-back
  • Alterando meus drivers gráficos para o proprietário do Xorg / AMD
  • Diminuir / Aumentar a aceleração e sensibilidade do ponteiro do touchpad / mouse.

Eu instalei o indicador-multiload e observei o alto iowait mesmo com% da CPU perto de 7-8. Usando o iotop, observei que 2 processos específicos, a saber, kworker e jdb, estão causando uma operação de alta io. Não tenho ideia do que esses processos estão fazendo.

Os dados e o autoteste da SMART foram executados sem falhas. Então, o meu HDD está funcionando bem?

Existe algum problema com o cabo SATA? Como posso confirmar sem usar qualquer outro hardware. Por favor, sugira o que mais eu posso tentar ou uma solução.
