Por alguma razão, eu não consigo usar o SSH do meu Ubuntu 15.10 para um servidor remoto usando uma chave privada, se eu rodar o ssh sem o sudo.
A configuração do lado do servidor está bem. Eu testei a chave privada da minha máquina Windows e de uma caixa CentOS e ambos podem usá-la.
Se eu colocar a chave privada em ~/.ssh autenticação falhar e for solicitada uma senha. No entanto, se eu colocar a mesma chave privada em /root/.ssh e usar sudo ssh , posso me conectar normalmente.
Funcionamento: sudo ssh [email protected] -vvv
não funciona: ssh [email protected] -vvv
Eu notei isso na saída detalhada do SSH.
Sem Sudo: oferecendo a chave pública RSA: /home/matt/.ssh/id_rsa
Com Sudo: Tentativa de chave privada: /root/.ssh/id_rsa
Antes dessa saída, a linha é a mesma.
Usar o diretório root .ssh não é o fim do mundo, mas isso não parece correto.
Alguém sabe por que não está trabalhando com a chave ssh no diretório pessoal do usuário?

Se você chamar ssh a partir de um shell sudo, você será logado como root no host de destino. Se você chamar o ssh do seu shell de usuário, você estará logado como mate. Eu acho que você colocou a chave no arquivo authorized_keys da raiz no host de destino, então você precisa dizer ao ssh que você quer logon como root no racer da máquina alvo do que como matt:
ssh [email protected]

Como matt ssh encontra um rsa conhecido-host-chave e ssh falhar. Como root, o ssh encontra uma chave de host conhecida de dsa e é bem-sucedido.
Talvez você corrija o problema removendo o arquivo /home/matt/.ssh/known_hosts
Você pode forçar o uso de dsa por este comando:
ssh -o HostKeyAlgorithms=ssh-dss [email protected]
Você pode remover entradas antigas do arquivo known_hosts com:
ssh-keygen -R gitlab.git.ho.me
ssh-keygen -R 192.168.1.155
Acontece descomentar IdentityFile em /etc/ssh/ssh_config resolveu o problema. Isto foi comentado em uma instalação padrão do Ubuntu 15.10
