O que é outro Execute no Linux e como faço para corrigir isso para permitir que o Windows oculte / exiba arquivos em um compartilhamento de Samba do NTFS (todos os arquivos estão presos ocultos)

Eu fiz um compartilhamento Samba de uma unidade NTFS e acesso o NAS do Windows. No entanto, não consigo ocultar nenhum arquivo no Windows acessando propriedades e verificando ocultos. Então eu aprendi que se eu adicionar map hidden = true à configuração de compartilhamento smb.conf, isso funcionará corretamente, exceto que agora todos os meus arquivos estão ocultos e não aparecem quando desmarquei o oculto no Windows. Pelo que li, é um problema com o outro bit de execução, mas não sei qual é o problema e como isso está afetando meu compartilhamento de samba.

Como eu iria consertar isso e permitir que o Windows esconda / exiba arquivos em um Compartilhamento de Samba NTFS?

Eu vi o link aqui: Mostrando arquivos ocultos como ocultos no Windows a partir do Linux Samba Share da unidade NTFS mas não entendi a outra parte da execução que parece ser o meu problema e não consegui descobrir sozinha, não importa o que eu tentei com o smb.conf.
