Xenial 16.04.1 Sistema de arquivos raiz LTS montado somente leitura

Recentemente, atualizei meu servidor físico do sistema baseado em upstart 14.04.4 para o sistema 16.04.1 systemd e localizei o sistema de arquivos raiz montado como somente leitura após a inicialização. O dmesg revela o que me parece uma possível causa-raiz abaixo:

Eu verifiquei a mídia com o teste longo smartctl e tudo parece estar bem.
