Estou usando o Ubuntu 14.04 com um gpu GTX de 780m no meu laptop e usando drivers nvidia-331 com o bumblebee.
Não consegui controlar o brilho da minha tela, mas decidi seguir algumas dicas na internet e adicionei as seguintes linhas ao arquivo /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20 -intel.conf :

Depois disso consegui controlar o brilho, tudo bem e elegante. O problema é que, depois disso, o zangão não funciona, por exemplo, tentar abrir o Steam usando primusrun dá essa mensagem:

Se eu tentar o vapor optirun, é o que aparece:

Na cabeça do arquivo /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia funcionaria, mas não funcionava. Depois de aplicar essas modificações, quando tento primusrun steam , é o que recebo:
