Eu tenho dois discos rígidos. O primeiro contém as instalações do Windows e do Ubuntu, mas o primeiro MBR para o Windows e o segundo MBR inicializa, em teoria, para o Ubuntu. Isso funcionou bem até recentemente.
Eu zerei meu MBR em sdb e o consertei com TestDisk. As partições e dados parecem bons. Depois disso, quando inicializo do sdb eu tenho isso na tela e nada mais.

Entrei no ambiente do Ubuntu e corri
sudo grub-install /dev/sdb
Nenhuma alteração. Eu corri
sudo grub-install --recheck /dev/sdb
Agora ele inicializa em uma tela que diz simplesmente
GRUB _
e não vai mais longe.

Isto parece estar correto, a inicialização do sdb deve carregar a raiz do Ubuntu de sda5.
Então o GRUB é instalado e está procurando no lugar certo, mas nada é inicializado. O que pode estar errado? Obrigado.
