WinPcap / Wireshark install: onde está o packet.dll?

Eu tenho o Wireshark instalado e estou recebendo este erro:

The NPF driver isn't running. You may have trouble capturing or listing interfaces.

Eu percebo que isso é algo a ver com o WinPcap. Não está no painel de controle, como a FAQ afirma que deveria ser. Eu tentei instalá-lo e ele diz que há uma versão anterior instalada. Isso me deixa acreditar que esse é o problema:

To be absolutely sure that WinPcap has been installed, please look at your system folder: you should find files called packet.* and wpcap.dll. Please check the file dates: these should be compatible with the WinPcap release dates. We've had reports of trojans or other malware that silently install the WinPcap driver, NPF.sys. If you've been infected by them, you'll probably see the driver file in Windows\System32\Drivers, but no entries in the "Add or Remove Programs" applet and no dlls.

Eu pesquisei no meu disco rígido, mas o único caminho é este:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\packet.dll

Este é o arquivo sobre o qual eles estão falando? Devo excluir este arquivo? Não tenho certeza, então pensei em verificar se esse arquivo é o correto.
