Tentar executar qualquer comando do apt-get do terminal me dá um erro de sintaxe. O Synaptic e o Software Center funcionam bem (Ubuntu 13.04).
Por exemplo:
sudo apt-get install mpack
/usr/bin/apt-get: 1: /usr/bin/apt-get: Syntax error: end of file unexpected
Eu estava instalando o icedtea-7 em um plugin de navegador java para serviços bancários on-line na época em que o erro começou, mas não tenho certeza se estava relacionado. Alguma idéia?

Um bom começo para corrigir problemas do apt é geralmente limpar o cache e atualizar os índices: $ sudo apt-get clean $ sudo apt-get update
Se o problema persistir, alguns dos arquivos da lista podem estar corrompidos. Removê-los manualmente e, em seguida, atualizar os índices funciona em torno desse problema.
