A maneira mais rápida de ativar o HDD e reinstalar o SO em um laptop?

Eu tenho um HP Pavilion dv2000 que eu quero vender. Mas antes disso, eu quero ligar o HDD e reinstalar o WinXP. O HDD tem atualmente duas partições, uma contendo o SO (em NTFS) e uma chamada RECOVERY (em FAT). Eu gravei um CD com o DBAN e outro com o WinXP OEM. Eu encontrei o site com todos os drivers / utilitários ( link ) mas será difícil descobrir quais devo instalar.

Eu sei que existem várias opções:

• solicitar o CD de recuperação da HP (demora muito)
• instale via disco OEM e instale os drivers um a um

• de alguma forma, pegue a segunda partição RECOVERY para usar (idk como fazer isso)

  1. Qual das três opções é a mais rápida (se a última, como isso é feito?)
  2. No mínimo razoável, quais drivers / utilitários devo instalar no site da HP?

  3. Por que o DBAN para aqui quando eu digito autonuke ?

  4. Qualquer outro conselho é apreciado.

"I looked through the BIOS for something else and I also have a "Media Card" reader that can be disabled. I thought "Hrm...that media card reader comes up as a drive in windows....maybe it's getting stuck on that." So I turned that off and DBAN ran fine. After it cleared my HD I went back into the BIOS and turned the eSATA back on.

So look in your BIOS for any card readers that might be detected as drives and turn them off if you can. If you CANT turn them off I would try throwing some media in them and maybe they will be detected properly and let you get by this issue."
